Ranking Aardman’s Films

Aardman started out in the world of television specials and short films with their first feature special based upon their now mascot of Wallace & Gromit in ‘A Grand Day Out’ which resulted in three successful sequels and a feature film. Aardman is also known for ‘Creature Comforts’ and ‘Shaun the Sheep’. Their first feature film was released in 2000 with ‘Chicken Run’.

As of 2016, Aardman have produced 6 feature films, although unlike other ranking films, we haven’t reviewed every film produced by the studio, so here is our countdown in ranking Aardman’s films that we’ve seen thus far.

1) Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005) – 94

Wallace & Gromit leap their way to the big screen in ‘The Curse of the Were-Rabbit’. An inventive feature that is faithful towards their small screen adventures.

2) Chicken Run (2000) – 86

‘Chicken Run’ is an Aardman Animations and DreamWorks Animation, which tells the story of an optimistic chicken named Ginger, who has the dream to escape the chicken farm, but after plenty of failed attempts of escaping, she is greeted by a rooster named Rocky (Rocky Road for short) who can “fly”, so with the two, they attempt to get all the chickens to fly over the fence, while the farmer attempts to build a pie machine that creates chicken pies.

3) The Pirates! Band of Misfits (2012) – 86

‘The Pirates! Band of Misfits’ is a swashbuckling hilarious adventure that pays homages to prior pirate genre films.
