Among the festive celebration at the ‘Star Wars’ Celebration, Lucasfilm dropped the teaser trailer for the highly anticipated next installment in ‘Star Wars’ with the eighth installment in the main Skywalker saga.

The teaser trailer brings us old favourites from ‘The Force Awakens’ with Rey training to become a Jedi, Poe Dameron and the loveable BB-8, and one shot of Finn after the events of the previous film, although it also brings us older favourites like the return of Luke Skywalker.

The teaser trailer is similar to ‘The Force Awakens’ teaser trailer back in November 2014 as this teaser brings us single shots (for the most part) of where things are in the world of ‘Star Wars’ – Darth Vader’s helmet is completely destroyed, Rey using the Force to move crumbles of rock around in the air, and the long wide shot of Luke teaching Rey on how to use the lightsaber on the side of a mountain.

There’s plenty to like in this teaser trailer, without really telling you the story and what is really going on, but my guess will presumably be a war between the light side and the dark side. Especially with the haunting words of Luke Skywalker saying “It’s time for the Jedi to end”.

Lucasfilm also revealed the teaser poster for the upcoming ‘Star Wars’ film which I really like:

‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ opens in cinemas on December 15th in the USA, and December 14th in Australia.

The Force is strong with this one.
