Journey back into the world of ‘Labyrinth’.

Sony is actively developing a spin-off of the 1986 cult favourite film ‘Labyrinth’ that starred Jennifer Connelly and David Bowie.

Per Deadline, Sony has attached ‘Don’t Breathe’ director Fede Alvarez to direct the ‘Labyrinth’ spin-off. Alvarez will co-write the story, along with writer Jay Basu who will write the film’s screenplay.

Instead of remaking the original film, insiders reassure that this will indeed be a spin-off, and will not focus on David Bowie’s memorable role as the Goblin King. At least they aren’t recasting the role. Phew!

Alvarez is also working with Sony for the upcoming ‘The Girl in the Spider’s Web’, a sequel to 2011 hit ‘The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’.
