After the long rumored cast from ‘Man of Steel’ baddie Michael Shannon, ‘Stranger Things’ star David Harbour, to pre-production concept images that featured a striking resemblance to Brad Pitt. Now, we know who will officially play ‘Deadpool’ baddie Cable.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Josh Brolin will be playing Deadpool’s biggest foe as Cable for ‘Deadpool 2’, surprising everyone since his name was never rumored, or even considered in shortlists.
What makes this news interesting is that Brolin will be playing two Marvel villians from two completely different Marvel universes. One for ‘X-Men’/‘Deadpool’ universe and the other for the ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’, as Brolin has been playing Thanos since ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and is set to reprise his role in the next two ‘Avengers’ films.
Deadpool released this tweet in response to Brolin’s casting for the sequel:
The f**k, Fox! You can’t play 2 characters in the same universe!! Josh Brolin was in Sicario and I was in Sabrina The Teenage Witch. pic.twitter.com/AQCRp1aWKg
