Harley Quinn returns for another outing in the ‘DC Extended Universe’.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment are developing a ‘Gotham City Sirens’ movie, based upon the comic book series with the same name that launched back in June of 2009 which focuses on the female villains, including Harley.
With the news, Margot Robbie will once again portray Harley Quinn from her debut in this year’s hit film ‘Suicide Squad’ which grossed a massive $745 million worldwide when it was released in August. Additionally, ‘Suicide Squad’ director David Ayer will direct the ‘Gotham City Sirens’ movie for Warner Bros. and DC. Geneva Robertson-Dworet will write the screenplay, who has been hired to write many upcoming profile releases including the third ‘Sherlock Holmes’ film and the anticipated ‘Tomb Raider’ reboot.
While I personally liked ‘Suicide Squad’, even for its flaws, it was an enjoyable film, but I was hoping for a greater film. Although, I am very excited to see Margot Robbie play Harley Quinn again as her performance was one of the stand-outs of ‘Suicide Squad’.
