Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment have released the first trailer for ‘Despicable Me 3’.
It’s good to see we are going back to the roots of the first ‘Despicable Me’ trailers were Gru gets the main focus, compared to the trailers of the second film where they were Minion heavy.
This time, Gru is going up against an 80’s inspired villain by the name of Balthazar Bratt, voiced by ‘South Park’ co-creator Trey Parker, which judging by the music of Michael Jackson’s “Bad”, this guy is no good. However, this villain seems rather interesting with his inventive gadgets of bubble gum that sucks people in and inflates, and the use of the Rubik’s Cube was pretty hilarious. Although, what was up with the last shot of the trailer with the Minions at a beach, acting as DJ’s? It’s doesn’t fit with the rest of the trailer and feels random and forced just so they could put the Minions in the trailer, which up to that point was Minion-free.
‘Despicable Me 3’ debuts in theatres on June 30th, 2017.
