“Welcome to Baywatch”.

While we wait for the trailer reveal of Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures new ‘Spider-Man’ movie set for release later today, Paramount Pictures have decided to get a jump on Marvel and Sony to reveal the teaser trailer for next year’s action comedy ‘Baywatch’, based on the 1989 television series which ran for an impressive 11 seasons.

As expected, the trailer is revealed with the iconic slow-mo running, even taking a stab at itself later in the trailer. However, it didn’t really impress me, although it does look a little similar to Sony’s ‘Jump Street’ series, especially at the start of the trailer when they say they need to restore the ‘Baywatch’ brand. Although, I remember not being impressed with the ’21 Jump Street’ trailer which later became one of the funniest films I’ve seen this decade, so it could be the same case here. One can hope.

‘Baywatch’ stars Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario and Priyanka Chopra. ‘Horrible Bosses’ director Seth Gordon will helm the film.

‘Baywatch’ debuts in theatres on May 26th, 2017.
