Here it is, the trailer we’ve all been waiting for is finally here.

Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have released the first trailer for next year’s highly anticipated ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’. The film features the new Peter Parker from this year’s ‘Captain America: Civil War’ with Tom Holland reprising his role as the web slinger, Spidey himself.

The trailer provides some clever winks and nods to the ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’, especially the first scene when the trailer opens to masked man stealing money, but are wearing Avenger masks of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and… “wait a minute. You guys aren’t the real Avengers. I can tell, Hulk gives it away”. Oh, did I mention the trailer was pretty hilarious.

Moving away from my reaction of “Woah! That was awesome”, the trailer sets up Peter’s high school life, and makes it clear that Peter is crushing on Liz. However, what I loved about ‘Captain America: Civil War’, it is great to see Peter Parker and Tony Stark talk over about the Avengers and what it takes to become a member of the team, like Peter states as “trials or interviews” which Tony responds by choose between what I would do and what I wouldn’t do. However, that last shot of Spider-Man and Iron Man together was pretty awesome.

‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ stars Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Laura Harrier and Robert Downey Jr. Jon Watts directs the film.

‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ debuts in theatres on July 7th, 2017.
