Fox has shuffled release dates for their most anticipated films for next year, these include ‘Alien: Covenant’ and ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’, while announcing new release dates for mystery Marvel films.
First up, Ridley Scott’s follow-up to 2012’s ‘Prometheus’ has been moved up in release. Revealed by the teaser poster, ‘Alien: Covenant’ will now open on May 19th, 2017. Its original release date was August 2017.
However, that doesn’t stop there. Per Collider, Fox has also delayed the highly anticipated sequel ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ to its new date on October 6th, 2017. The film’s original release was set for June 2017, now pushing the film out of summer completely. However, it now competes head to head with the long awaited ‘Blade Runner’ sequel ‘Blade Runner: 2049’.
Additionally, Fox has announced dates for two mystery Marvel movies for November 2nd, 2018 and February 14th, 2019. This leads to speculation as whether one of these releases is the continued delay of the ‘X-Men’ spin-off ‘Gambit’, starring Channing Tatum, whether the other could possibly be an ‘X-Force’ film, or perhaps the rumored ‘X-Men’ reboot. However, that’s just me theorizing and speculating, as it could be anyone’s guess. Maybe another ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot?
