“He’s Shaun the Sheep”.
Everybody should know his name by now. The famous sheep made his first appearance in the ‘Wallace & Gromit’ television special ‘A Close Shave’ in 1995. Since then, he has starred in his own show, which started its run in 2007, and has currently produced 150 episodes, and still counting, and even its own theatrical movie which premiered in theatres last year. The show even spawned its own spin-off ‘Timmy Time’ from 2009.
Today, Aardman and Studiocanal have announced that a sequel, currently titled as ‘Shaun the Sheep Movie 2’, is in development, announced on the official ‘Shaun the Sheep’ website. Richard Starzak will be returning to direct the sequel, after having co-directed the first film with Mark Burton.
The first film titled ‘Shaun the Sheep Movie’ was critically acclaimed and grossed more than $106 million globally, and even earned itself a nomination at this year’s ‘Academy Awards’ for Best Animated Feature.
There’s no word on a release date, but pre-production will commence from January next year.
