As reported back in March of this year, Disney has been in development of a live-action ‘Mulan’ movie. While we haven’t heard anything since then, Disney is finally getting down to business by announcing a release date for their upcoming live-action adaptation for a November 2nd, 2018 release, as reported by Oh My Disney.

The live-action film will mark the original animated film’s 20th anniversary, as the animated film was released in theatres in June of 1998, which was a success grossing more than $300 million worldwide.

The studio is actively looking for a Chinese leading actress to play the titular role of Mulan in a global casting search.

‘Mulan’ has been a favourite among Disney fans, and one of Disney’s best. We gave the original 1998 animated film an A- grade.

Let’s hope the animated film’s songs are in the film. I would love for another rendition of “Reflection” or “I’ll Make a Man Out of You”.

‘Mulan’ joins next year’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ as the only two live-action films to get a release date, based off Disney’s animated properties.
